South American products from the heart of the Andes
EcuaFina literally means: the most beautiful (fina) products from Ecuador (ecua). Our products are imported directly into the Netherlands without any intermediaries. At Zutphen we have our travel concept store where you can see, feel and experience all of our products.
Many of our products are made from soft alpaca wool such as: native plaids, capes, scarves, hoodies and more. We also sell the only true panama hat or what Ecuadorians call “sombreros de paja toquilla”. But there are also hand-woven rugs, tagua jewelry, hand-painted pottery from Cuenca, avocado oil and more. These products are made using traditional methods by the Quichua people, an indigenous people living in the Andes who make a living by buying and selling homemade goods.
Rebecca Braak, founder of EcuaFina, took her first steps in Ecuador in 2014 and fell in love with the country, its people, its culture and its handicrafts. She wants more people to love this versatile country and its authentic products. This is how the idea for her own store and online store was born. Rebecca lives in Ecuador with her family and keeps in touch with weavers and other artisans. She visits the local community several times a year to ensure the high quality of the products and works with the locals to design new products.
Many of EcuaFina’s products are made from soft alpaca wool, such as native plaids, capes, scarves and dresses. There are also real Panama hats, or “sombreros de paja toquilla” as the Ecuadorians call them. These hats are handcrafted from a type of straw. You’ll also find hand-woven colorful rugs, Tagua jewelry, hand-painted pottery from Cuenca, avocado oil and more. Almost all products are sold in the online store, but there are also some products that are only sold in the online store. These products are traditionally made by the Kichuas, the indigenous people of the Andes who make a living by buying and selling homemade goods.
